FAQS

Is it safe to use DF 500 bits on the more powerful DF 700 motor?

Absolutely. The DF 700 has plenty of power, but the key is the RPM. Since DF 500 bits are smaller, we recommend running your DF 700 at its higher speed settings to ensure a clean cut. The adapter is built to handle the torque effortlessly.

Can I leave the adapter on the machine when I'm not using it?

Yes, the adapter is compact and doesn't interfere with the machine's hood or dust extraction. However, for the best care of the threads, we recommend removing it when switching back to native 12mm or 14mm DF 700 bits.

Does the adapter require any special tools or thread-locker to stay secure during use?

No special chemicals are needed. Our adapter is designed with a precision shoulder that seats firmly against the DF 700 spindle. Simply use the standard 8mm wrench that came with your Domino to snug it down. The high-precision threads are engineered to resist loosening during the high-vibration oscillation of the mortising process, keeping your setup rock-solid throughout the day.

Will frequent swapping between the adapter and native bits wear out my DF 700 spindle?

Our adapter is made from high-tensile steel with a surface hardness specifically calibrated to be slightly softer than your machine's spindle but tougher than the bits. This ensures that the adapter takes the sacrificial wear, protecting the expensive threads of your DF 700. We recommend a light wipe of the threads before installation to ensure no wood dust is trapped, guaranteeing a perfect fit every time.
